Foundation Stone Laid for 100-Bedded Hostel at Chokihola High School under DAJGUA

KOILAMATI, Jul 29: A Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony was held today for the construction of a 100-bedded hostel under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhijan (DAJGUA) at Chokihola High School, located in Lindok Rongpi Village, Chokihola, Karbi Anglong.

The programme, which commenced at 9:00 AM and concluded by 10:30 AM, saw the virtual laying of the foundation stone by Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education. The ceremony was graced virtually by several dignitaries, including Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, Minister of State for Education, Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State for Education & Independent Charge, MSDE, Dr. Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member, KAAC, Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Minister of Education, Assam,  Amarsing Tisso, Dr. Numal Momin, MLA, Richard Tokbi, EM, KAAC, and Pabitra Rongpi, MAC, KAAC.

As the chief dignitaries participated virtually, the physical laying of the foundation stone was done on their behalf by George Rongpi, Chairman of Nilip Education Block and the Guest of Honour, at the school campus.

The event was attended by approximately 80 participants, including Dr. Ronjit Ronghang, Principal of Chokihola High School, Bapuram Rongpi, SMDC President, Edwardson Ronghang, SMDC Vice-President, Sujib Sangmai, Nilip Block Accountant, Rina Gogoi, IE Resource Person, Tridip Neog, AIE Resource Person, members of SMDC, school staff, SGB, GBs, Mothers Group, parents, senior citizens, students, and members of the local community.

The programme began with a welcome and introductory speech delivered by Dr. Ronjit Ronghang, followed by the felicitation of guests. George Rongpi delivered an insightful address on the objectives and benefits of the DAJGUA scheme. The concluding speech was delivered by Bapuram Rongpi, vote of thanks was presented by Haising Kro.

After the brief meeting, all attendees gathered in the ICT Room of Class IX to witness the live virtual stone laying ceremony. Following this, the gathering moved to the site where the foundation stone was laid physically by George Rongpi.
