Development-focused outreach programme held in Disama Sikari Hanse village

DIPHU, Aug 02:In a significant move to bridge the gap between government schemes and tribal communities, the Karbi Anglong District Administration organized a development-focused awareness camp at Disama Sikari Hanse village under Lumbajong Development Block on Saturday.
The camp was part of a broader initiative aimed at empowering indigenous populations by informing them about Central Government schemes such as Aadhaar, Jan Dhan Yojana, and Kisan Credit Card. Through on-ground interaction, officials educated the villagers on the application processes and benefits associated with these welfare programs.
Dixit Papane, Field Officer from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, attended the event and emphasized the Centre’s commitment to ensuring last-mile delivery of schemes to tribal populations. He stated that steps are being taken to make such schemes more accessible at regional and grassroots levels.
Also present at the programme were Assistant Commissioner Udipta Bora and staff members of the Block Development Office. They assured continued support in facilitating government services and resolving community-level issues.
The camp not only raised awareness but also served as a platform for direct interaction between officials and the community, enabling villagers to voice their concerns and receive immediate guidance on available welfare schemes.
