DIPHU, Aug 19: A one-day workshop cum seminar on National Handicrafts Development Programme (NHDP) Research & Development Scheme 2025-26 was held today at Hotel Mandakini Moran, Dibrugarh, Assam. It was a joint initiative of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, and the O/o Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) Handicraft Service Centre, Jorhat, Assam.
Among the various topics discussed in the event, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) GI Registration, e-Commerce, GeM Portal, India Handmade Portal and GST were the prominent.
National award recipient in the field of Handloom and Textile and Tribal Artisan, Sabina Teronpi, wife of MLA Dorsing Ronghang from Karbi Anglong, attended the programme as a guest. On the occasion, she shared her ideas and knowledge on how to promote tribal costumes in the international arena. She also talked at length about her activities to promote Karbi traditional dresses.
