Residents of Bokajan dissatisfied with the work of JJM contractor

BOKAJAN, Mar 24: Residents of Bokajan expressed dissatisfaction over the irresponsible task carried out by contractor of Jal Jeevan Mission today. While beneficiaries were fortunate with the said scheme, villagers of Bokajan, Sukhanjan, Wophong Terang and others expressed their discontentment with the contractor carrying out the project recklessly. Villagers told TDE that water pipes were erected too close to the road, causing inconvenience to the pedestrians and increasing the chances of accident. They also added that the project contractor should have been considerate before setting up the pillars of the pipe. The locals also urged the concerned PHE department of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council to look into the matter for the interest the villagers.
Jal Jeevan Mission was launched on August 14, 2019, and the Saubhagya Scheme are the visions of the current Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, to provide with safe adequate drinking water through individual household tap connection to be fully established by the year 2024 and electricity, of which 90% of the household has received electricity. Accordingly, JJM was initiated in Assam and reached various parts of the state and the scheme is also under progress in Karbi Anglong.
