TUMPRENG, May 14: The All Party Hills Leaders Conference (APHLC) conducted a public awareness meeting on Sixth Schedule in Inglong Merko falling under the Bithung Rengthama MAC constituency inside West Karbi Anglong district here today. APHLC president JI Kathar and leader Bikram Hanse were also present at the meeting.
During the public meeting, 26 families who were supporters of other political parties were inducted into the party fold. Addressing the public, the regional party president while slamming the ruling party said they always send cops to prevent APHLC party from holding meetings and rallies but they never send forces to protect the villagers in border areas.
Further, he pointed alleged that government actually do not want to keep forces in the border areas as part of ‘Give and Take’ policy adopted by the government towards resolution of border issues.
