DOLAMARA, Nov 26: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today took part in the Maihongjai Amei or Religious Solidarity Meet programme organised by the Lokhimon Sangha at Dolamara Lokhimon Ashram under Duarbagori constituency, Karbi Anglong. The CM participated in the Yagya and other rituals held during the event.
KAAC CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang, local MLA Dr. Numol Momin, other MLAs, EMs, MACs, DC, SP, officers of KAAC and other dignitaries were also present. Thousands of followers of the Lokhimon came to the event dressed in their own colourful costumes.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM of Assam said that he was overjoyed to visit the ashram for the second time. As a gift to the followers of Lokhimon, he laid the foundation stone for the construction of a temple of the founder of the faith, on the top of the Sok Phe-e Anglong. The temple will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 5 crores.
Later, he inaugurated the statue of Kurusar Lokhon Engti Hansek in the Residence of Hemphu Madan Engti Hensek and the entrance gate of Sok phe eh Anglong.
