DILLAI, Aug 28: The Karbi Anglong Chamber of Commerce today convened a press meeting at Lahorijan regarding the current tussles in the trade of broiler chicken. President of the Chamber Augustin Kramsa while talking to media persons expressed his displeasure over the ongoing unevenness and feud among the local broiler traders of Lahorijan.
Kramsa said that the parties involved in the tussle should solve their problems through discussion and avoid the involvement of law and order bodies. “Either the Taxation Department under KAAC or the Veterinary Department should be approached in this regard,” he said.
“The Taxation Department should not prevent anyone from doing business. They must provide NOC to whoever applies for the same, there should be no partiality,” he added.
It may be mentioned here that the issue started after former rebel leader Songbijit Ingti Kathar convened a press meet and expressed his disappointment with the Taxation Department for providing NOC to two persons for carrying out broiler chicken business in Lahorijan.
