DIPHU, Mar 22: The romantic and action movie ‘Artu’ took home at least 10 awards from the Rangsina Sarpo Filmfare Award – 2023, which were given away on Tuesday night during the ceremony held at Diphu Town Hall. The event was inaugurated by the chief guest KAAC EM Mongolsing Timung in the presence of EM Surjya Rongphar.
Among the awards, the film had won were ‘Best Playback Singer – Male’ (Jiten Terang, for the song Non Malom), ‘Best Choreographer’ (Bhaskar Doley), ‘Best Cinematographer’ (Bhaskar Jyoti Doley), ‘Best Music Director’ (Bijoy Lekthe), ‘Best Costume Director’ (Langpher KCS Zone), ‘Best Actor – Male’ (Bijoy Lekthe), ‘Best Actor – Female’ (Kiran Engtipi), ‘Best Script’ (Bhaity Engti), ‘Best Actor Negative Role – Male’ (Nigom Ronghang) and ‘Best Director’ (Bhaity Engti).
Other winners were Sewali Terangpi (Best Playback Singer Female for the song ‘Monjir Kevang’), Dilip Bey (Best Supporting Actor Male for the film Serdihun), Rengka Engtipi (Best Supporting Actor Female for the film Serdihun), Best Act Director (Borsing Teron and Longki Teron for the film Serdihun), Best Comedian (Sodar Ingti for Klirningve), Best Film Editor (Bapuram Ronghang for Klirningve), Best Make-Up Artist (Jitu Saikia for Serdihun), Best Actor Negative Role (Malin Tissopi for Harchi Keprai), Best Documentary (B.K Film Productions for Chojun) and Special Jury Mention Award 2022 to Rengmir Hansepi (Riro Akanghon).
On the other hand, Rangsina Sarpo Folk Artist Award was given to Mohindra Engti (70) of Den Arong and Kanam Beypi (77) of Borpung has been awarded the best male and female Rangsina Sarpo Folk Artist Award. The prizes have been handed over by KAAC, EM in charge of Art and Cultural, Surya Rongphar. They have been given a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- with a citation.
The presentation ceremony began with the welcome speech by KAAC Jt. Secretary Nirupoma Timungpi. This was followed by a welcome song presented by artists of the Cultural Affairs Department.
Before the main awards were distributed, several persons who have given noteworthy contributions in various fields of art, culture, and cinema were felicitated. Among them were director & producer Dhaniram Tisso, KCS president Chandrasing Kro, journalist and actor Bikrom Teron and others.
Among the screening committee members of the award were Rajib Kro, Sarthe Terang, Jibon Teron, Chandra Sing Dera, Sashikala Hansepi, Bindu Terangpi and Dipali Amphi.
