Citizens question about the sudden closure of the weekly market

BIRSINGKI, Dec 09: The BJP party on Friday, December 8 conducted a ‘Unity Victory Prosperity Rally’ at Birsingki Weekly Market under the Amri MAC constituency. Top party leaders of the district including KAAC CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang, local MAC D. Uphing Maslai, MLAs, EMs, and MACs along with the party’s district president and other workers came to the rally.
On the rally day, some people ordered the closure of the Birsingki weekly market, due to this, there was confusion among people as to who permitted the closure as people from the adjacent Chinthong and Duar Amla constituencies also come here regularly to sell and purchase goods. The Birsingki Bazaar Committee had clarified that they did not give the order.
Due to the closure, local farmers are the worst sufferers. Their ginger, chilly and other fresh items could not be sold and had rotten.
“Was it to gather more people in the rally that the market was closed?” questioned local citizens. They say that the step was only to trouble the rural population.
A faction of the public also said that the act of closing the market was an attempt to malign the reputation of the CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang.
