DIPHU, Oct 01: The Karbi Anglong BJYM today burned the effigy of Congress MLA Debabrata Saikia in protest against the allegations of corruption leveled by him on KAAC CEM. The protest session was conducted in the evening at around 4:30 PM in front of the East Karbi Anglong BJP office.
The Congress MLA had accused the KAAC CEM of Rs. 100 crore corruptions through different firms. The BJYM stated that all the allegations were false and baseless and were aimed to malign the reputation of KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang.
“Under the leadership of CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang, Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong had seen tremendous development in every sector. People are getting the benefit of the developmental works done by him. What has MLA Debabrata Saikia done for Karbi Anglong?” said the BJYM leader Jiten Bey.
“All these allegations are nothing but means to hinder the development process in Karbi Anglong. We are really disheartened by the act of the MLA,” Bey added.
