HAFLONG, May 27: Dima Hasao Autonomous Council’s CEM Debolal Gorlosa on Friday inaugurated a slew of development project under Gunjung MAC constituency in Dima Hasao.
The projects include numbers of village approach roads, hanging bridge, school extension building, staff quarter for government officials and teachers, pipeline water supply etc. to mention few.
The CEM also inaugurated statue of Dimasa freedom fighter Veer Swambudhan Phonglo in the village and also laid foundation stone for 12 numbers of developments project under Gunjung MAC constituency.
Later a meeting was organized at Gunjung field where DHAC chairperson Ranu Langthasa, EM Nojit Kemprai, EM Ratan Jarambusa, EM Biswajit Daulagupu, Haflong Municipal Board chairman Manjit Naiding, Dima Hasao district BJP president Donpainon Thaosen and other dignitaries attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, CEM Gorlosa said that his team of council will leave no stone unturned to bring development in the district and assured for any assistance.
Other dignitaries who spoke on the occasion highlighted development in the area that took place in the last 7 years and lauded the DHAC led by Debolal Gorlosa and Assam government led by CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma.
Later the guests present felicitated HSLC and HSSLC toppers who excelled in their academic session.
It can be mentioned that, Gunjung village, 30 km from district HQ Haflong has a historic importance, since it was once a headquarter of the British colony which saw a major facelift after several decades.
