Congress holds joint extended meeting at Dongkamukam

TUMPRENG, Sep 08: With the aim of strengthening party activities and reach, a joint extended meeting of the Congress party was held at Hongkram Congress office in Rongkhang in West Karbi Anglong district here today. The meeting was chaired by Tenzing Terang and was attended, as chief guest, by ex-EM Sing Teron, Robin Ronghang, Rajen Ronghang, Ajit Dera and several other leaders.

During the meeting, the party appointed presidents and secretaries of 29 booth committees to take charge of party responsibilities. Further, several matters were discussed in detail for consolidating the party’s strength and reach in the hill district.

Addressing party workers, Ajit Dera called upon its members to provide their full commitment in exposing the BJP’s failures, governance, and failure in handling the economy among others stating that BJP has to be shown the exit gate in the upcoming election.

Later, while speaking to local media, ex-EM Sing Teron claimed that the public themselves are fed up with the BJP party and therefore, people are returning to the party fold. In addition to this, the former EM expressed confidence and claimed that the return of Congress to power is certain in the upcoming MP election.
