Congress mass joining programme held; former MLA Joyram Engleng joins party

DIPHU, May 05: The Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee (KADCC) today held a mass joining programme at its office in Diphu. The programme saw the homecoming of former KAAC CEM and ex-MLA Joyram Engleng and former KAAC EM and Dhansiri MAC Bhupen Hasnu.
Both Engleng and Hasnu had earlier achieved heights in their pollical career as members of Congress but later joined the BJP. Recently, the duo deserted the saffron party and today once again pledged their loyalty to the Congress.
Speaking on the occasion Joyram Engleng said that he was not satisfied with the working system of the BJP. He condemned the lack of transparency in the party and the fascist nature of the party leaders.
MP Gaurav Gogoi welcomed the homecoming leaders. He lambasted the BJP govt. of their failure to control rapid price rises in the nation. He said that the BJP is in their last stage of power and in the next MP election the party will fall from power.
“Under the BJP government, there is insecurity in the minds of people. Be it journalists, teachers of common women, all are living in some sort of insecurity,” he said.
APCC president Bhupen Kumar Bora said that the people of Assam no longer have trust in the BJP. The Congress party speaks the words of the common people who are feeling cheated by the BJP govt.
Chaired by Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Bhupen Kumar Bora, the programme was also attended by MP Gaurav Gogoi, KADCC president and former HAD Minister Sum Ronghang, former MLA Klengdun Ingti and other state and district leaders of the party.
Many prominent leaders of BJP had today joined Congress along with the ex-MLA and ex-MAC.
