Correspondent BOKAJAN, Apr 03: In a latest development, the Karbi Anglong Police on Wednesday seized 254 grams of heroin during a search at Lahorijan checkpoint near the Assam Nagaland border. According to the police, the illegal narcotic substance was recovered during a search conducted immediately on receiving information about its transportation from Dimapur towards Bokajan. The illegal narcotic substance was concealed by the woman in one air bag covered with one plastic polythene packet. Following the recovery of heroin, the woman identified as Musstt. Sobina Khatun, w/o Late Moinul Hoque, resident of Panbari, Jame Masjid, Dhing (Nagaon) was taken into custody. The packets of drugs were seized under the physical supervision of Bokajan SDPO John Das, the police concluded. The police team led by SI (UB) Ramen Bordoloi, SI (UB) Nitul Saikia, SI (P) Swmdwm Swargiary, ASI (UB) Bhuban Barik, one section of 20BN CRPF along with local police station staffs set up a special naka checking at Laharijan checking point near Assam Nagaland border where the narcotic substance was recovered from the 27-year old woman.
