Cover of evergreen Karbi song ‘Dampone Bangso Apirthe Pen’ released

DIPHU, Dec 01: A cover song and video of the popular and evergreen Karbi song ‘Dampone Bangso Apirthe Pen’ was released today in a short ceremony held at the DPKCA office, Diphu Main Market. The song has been sung by Plabita Bordoloi Saikia and produced by Iraj Kumar Saikia. Music Rearrangement has been done by Simanta Barman with violin by Ghanakanta Daimari, videography by Abhijit Saikia Medhi and editing by Didul Bora.

The event was moderated by senior journalist Sonju Bora and attended by the original singer of the song Pokhila Lekthepi, DPFC leaders Laichan Engleng and Dhiraj Diphusa, journalist Kangbura Senar and many others.

Speaking on the occasion, the ‘nightingale of Karbi Anglong’ Pokhila Lekthepi expressed her happiness on her song receiving a new voice and face. She informed that the song was a composition of her own and it deals with the hard times she had faced in life. She thanked the producer and the singer Plabita for taking the pains to remake her song.

Former KSA president Laichan Engleng said that the song ‘Dampone Bangso Apirthe Pen’ is very close to the heart of every Karbi as anybody who listens to it can relate to it. He also said that the singer might have failed to win something in life, but through the song, she had won the hearts of lakhs of people.
