
DIPHU, Mar 23: The Communist Party of India (ML), Bokajan District held joint extended meeting under the theme “Save democracy, save Karbi Anglong”, at its office premise, Hanjanglangso on Thursday.
The keynote and welcome speech was addressed by Amlong Engti who welcomed all the gathering. “The point of this meeting is very clear – if the Constitution and democracy is in danger, there is a need for a decisive struggle to save them from the fascist forces and we need a grand unity for that,” he said.
Rabi Kr. Phangcho and Pratima Engheepi were felicitated during the programme for being elected to the CPIML Central Committee.
Moreover, the meeting resolved to celebrate its foundation Day on April 22 and May Day on May 1 this year and to strenthen the statehood movement under Article 244(A) of Indian constitution.
A review on the recent concluded Convention of 11th CPIML Party Congress at Patna on February was also discussed where the party supremo spoke at length about the rising unemployment, poverty, communal frenzy, economic inequality, attack on freedom of press, IT raids on BBC offices and on Adani affairs.
Rabi Kr. Phangcho, Secretary HPC & CCM, Pratima Engheepi, general secretary KNCA & CCM CPIML, Amlong Engti i/c Nirman Sramik, Sumit Timung GSKSA, Bimal Singnar, president RYA Hills Committee and Klengdun Phangcho AISA Hills Committee were the noted guests present at today’s meeting. Bapuram Singnar chaired over the meeting.
