Cyclone damages over 20 houses in Nilip, 3 students injured

KOILAMTI, May 27: A cyclonic storm destroyed about 20 houses and a government Lower primary school in Dholajan around 12.30 pm under Chokihola police station today.
The villagers of Donglangso were mostly affected by the powerful winds which occurred all of a sudden.
Three school children Ingjir Teronpi, Ramson Rongphar and Chingthur Rongphar of Dholajan LP School sustained minor injuries when a tree fell upon the roof and hit them on their heads. They were under treatment.
The school headmaster was absent during the incident. “He is absent every saturday despite having responsibility as the school head,” said a local.
Many trees, electric posts were uprooted by the strong wind report added.
Chokihola Police station OC Ritupal Senchowa along with his teams and Silonijan circle Lot Mandal George Teron rushed to the spot on receiving the information.
People of the areas were affected by cyclones on three occasions including today this year alone.
The villagers have urged the government authority to help them come out of this crisis.
