BOKAJAN, Apr 13: The stretch or road falling under the Bokajan Sub Division and Bokajan PWD Road Division near the Lahorijan Entry Taxation Gate is utterly in deplorable condition due to which commuters are having a hard time.
According to locals, the road was constructed only about two years ago but the newly constructed road has suffered extreme damages and is now marked by countless potholes giving harrowing time to daily commuters. Locals further stated that Bokajan PWD Road Division is least bothered by the current condition and didn’t care to carry out any inspection or repair works of the highway. “If the PWD ask construction firm they might carry out repair and maintenance work as it is obligatory if the damages happen within five years,” locals added.
While expressing dismay and anger, local residents also said that majority of the public have no knowledge about the location of the Bokajan PWD office. Following this, locals has called upon the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) PWD EM for his early intervention and initiative at the earliest to ease the woes of commuters.
