Desh Bhakti Divas observed in Diphu

MAILOO, Jul 28: The Karbi Anglong District Administration observed Desh Bhakti Divas today at 12 pm at the Circuit House, Diphu, to commemorate the death anniversary of revered freedom fighter Desh Bhakt Tarun Ram Phookan and to honour his invaluable contributions to India’s struggle for independence.
The programme featured distinguished resource persons, including Padma Dhaneswar Engti, Everester Khorsing Terang, writer Bhabha Prasad Deori, Dr. Monalisa Rongpipi of Diphu Government College, senior journalist Sonju Bora, and On Teron as resource persons.
While delivering speeches, In their insightful speeches, the speakers highlighted Tarun Ram Phookan’s pivotal role in India’s freedom movement, his literary contributions, remarkable personality, and unwavering dedication to national service.
The speakers also emphasised the importance of his legacy as an inspiration for today’s youth to uphold the values of patriotism and unity.
The event saw active participation from officials of the Karbi Anglong District Commissioner’s Office, members of Diphu Lekhika Samaroh, and students from various schools, adding to the solemnity and significance of the occasion.
Desh Bhakti Divas was observed across Assam to mark the death anniversary of Tarun Ram Phookan.
The event in Diphu not only paid heartfelt tribute to the great patriot but also aimed to inspire the younger generation to embrace the ideals of nationalism, unity, and service to the nation.
