DIPHU, Aug 22: Harsing Kro, a young boy from Jaipong cracked the NEET UG-2023 and is set to join the prestigious Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical & Hospital (FAAMC), Barpeta for his MBBS course. His selection for the course brought great delight and smiles on the faces of his parents and the local residents. Pleased by his achievement, the KSYC Jaipong Area Council, Jaipong Sports Association, and eminent persons from the locality today including Jaipong Lamps chairman Hemari Teron, Kangbura Terang, Bidyasing Teron, Monsing Timung, Rajen Ingti, Diuri Rongphar and Rajesh Tokbi visited Harsing’s house and felicitated him and also handed over a small sum of money for his expenses.
Harsing Kro is the only son of Sarthe Kro and Kajir Hansepi. They are residents of No. 2 Kelang Sarthe village under Phuloni constituency of Diphu LAC. He has four sisters. His father is a farmer and his mother is a housewife. He began his schooling at Singnar Camp LP School. Then he shifted Diphu and was admitted to Redeemer English School where he read till the seventh standard, after which he joined Covenant High School where he passed his matriculation exam. For his higher secondary course, he studied at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Diphu.
Despite the poor financial condition at home, Harsing did not lose his focus on his studies. His academic record in school was excellent and his continued hard work made it possible to crack the tough NEET exam.
Taking about his preparation strategies Harsing told TDE that he did not join any coaching class and all he did was self-study. He took the help of NCERT Textbooks of classes 11 and 12, especially the books Physics, Chemistry and Biology. He also utilised the Online Mock Test (NEETPREP). He said that there was no fixed duration for his studies. He followed a systematic way to study.
Harsing’s village Jaipong is located about 10-12 kms away from Langhin. After Dr. Semsing Singnar and Dr. Dhoneswar Bey, he is the third person from the village to crack NEET.
