DIPHU, Mar 01: Under the initiative of KAAC EM i/c Tourism Ritesh Enghi and Karbi Anglong district deputy commissioner Madhumita Bhagwati, a two-day “Destination Based Skill Development Training Programme”, is being conducted by the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Guwahati. The programme being held at KASA Stadium Complex, Diphu is being held under the C.B.S.P., Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India.
Speaking the inaugural session of the training, EM Ritesh Enghi said that Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong is filled with places of tourist attraction. The beautiful natural landscape, flora and fauna, the cultural heritage and culture need more attention of the world, and for this purpose his department is working relentlessly. He further appealed the participants of the training to give emphasis on developing new ideas and skills to bring tourists to the district.
Among the resource persons of the training are Mirjeng Ronghang (Deputy Director, Karbi Anglong Tourism Department), Khagen Saikia (HOD IHM, Ghy) and Bikram Sen (Lecturer IHM, Ghy). A total of 38 youths were seen taking the training on the first day today.
