HAFLONG, Dec 14: Debolal Gorlosa, Chief Executive Member, N. C. Hills Autonomous Council inaugurated the recently renovated Boro Haflong (Mpuilo) Kelumki (Temple) on Thursday in the presence of huge gatherings of devotees from the Jeme community.
CEM Gorlosa was accompanied by Padmashri Dr. Ramkuiwangbe Newme, Patron, Zeliangrong Heraka Association, NEI, Srikrishna Bhide, Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarta Promukh, Kalyan Ashram, Jiweshwar Mishra, vice president, central committee, Vishva Hindu Parishad, Yogendra Singh Sisodia, executive member, Vidya Bharati Purvottar Kshetra, Paudaming Nriame, EM, NCHAC, Ramgalungbe Kuame, EM, NCHAC.
Before the inauguration of the Kelumki, priests offered their prayers for the wellbeing of all to lord Tinwang, the creator of the universe as believed by the Heraka Jeme community. This was followed by mass prayers where the priest explained the importance of Tinwang and Kelumki.
Talking to media persons, Padmashri Dr. Ramkuiwangbe Newme explained the importance of Kelumki and said more and more Kelumki are being established in each Jeme village with the patronage of villagers.
CEM Gorlosa said he was very happy to inaugurate the Kelumki at Boro Haflong since his council has been committed to protecting indigenous faith and culture of each community living in Dima Hasao.
