MAILOO, Aug 04: The Diphu Chess Academy (DCA) in Diphu, Karbi Anglong, organized its inaugural two-day Rapid Chess Tournament on August 2nd and 3rd, 2025, exclusively for its students. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 23 young chess players, showcasing their skills and competitive spirit.
The tournament concluded with Princeson Teron from Mount Calvary School, Diphu, clinching the first prize. Anindhya S. Daolaguphu, also from Mount Calvary School, secured the second prize, while Rangsina Bey from St. Dominic School, Diphu, took the third prize. The fourth prize was awarded to Eshan Deep Tamuly from Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Diphu.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Uttam Tokbi, President of Diphu Chess Academy, Umesh Teron, Chief Advisor of Diphu Chess Academy, Kirison Engti, Secretary of Karbi Anglong District Chess Association, and Rekibuddin Ahmed, Subject Teacher at Rengbomhom Higher Secondary School. The tournament was guided by Girish Borah, the esteemed coach of the Diphu Chess Academy.
