District Level Sports Meet 2023 conducted

DIPHU, Mar 19: Under the initiative of the Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Diphu a district-level sports meet was conducted. Beginning on March, the event ended today with prize distribution ceremony at KASA stadium. Three different locations were taken for conducting the games. The individual events were conducted at KASA stadium and Diphu Govt. College playground, while the group events were conducted at Kakoti Ronghang playground.

The tug-of-war (boys) competition was won by the Borlangpher team, while Diphu Athletics Academy came out the runners-up. In the girl’s category of the game Kakoti Ronghang club defeated Diphu Athletics Academy in the final. In Kabaddi (boys) Diphu Athletics Academy (DAA) defeated Hangjanglangso club to become the champions, while in the girl’s category Kakoti Ronghang girls won over DAA. In volleyball, the male team of Hanjanglangso defeated Dhansiri, while the DAA girls defeated Kakoti Ronghang.

Among the individual games conducted were cycle race, 400m race, long jump and shot put throw.

Lakshmi Beypi was awarded with the ‘Best Athlete (female)’, while Agustin Enghi was awarded as ‘Best Athlete (male)’.

Among the guests who attended prize distribution today were Lumbajong MAC Johny Timung, Assam Masters Games Association secretary Dhansing Rongpi, Karbi Lammet Amei secretary Joysing Tokbi, professor of Diphu Medical College Dr Joydeep Dey, international masters games athlete Mongolsing Hanse, former accountant of NYK Putul Singha, Amor Chandra Das A.P.S  from NYK ,Diphu and others.
