District Level Yuva Utsav on ‘Panch Pran of Amrit Kaal- India @2047’ held

PHELANGPI, May 26: A District Level Yuva Utsav on the theme of ‘Panch Pran of Amrit Kaal – India @2047’ was organised at Kapili College, Kheroni, West Karbi Anglong on Thursday. The festival was organised by the Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Diphu, Karbi Anglong, Ministry of Youtrh Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India in collaboration with Subaltern Development Club.

The event has evoked huge enthusiasm among the students and youth of the district. Dr.  Guru Prasad Upadhyay, Principal, Kapili College chaired the inauguration ceremony. Jeetendra Harijan, Vice- Principal, Kapili College introduced and felicitated all the guests and judges of the event. The utsav was started with lightening traditional lamp, floral tribute to Swami Vivekananda. Saikat Mondal, District Youth Officer, NYK explained the aims and objects and the keynote address of the Utsav. The events of the programme were Declamation contest, Cultural fest, Painting, Poetry and Mobile photography contest.

On the occasion, the chief Guest, Krishna Baruah, ACS, Deputy Commissioner of West Karbi Anglong addressed the Youth of the programme. She said that it is a huge opportunity for the youth to take part in various talent hunt programs in the Youth Festival. She said that the state is marching towards higher progress in many fields including sports and youth development. She said the Youths should prepare for UPSC exam and crack it.

The Utsav was graced by Khorsing Terang, Youth Icon, Assam Gaurav Awardee, Honsing Terang, Ex-VDC Chairman, Sukra Sing Ramchiary, principal of Kheroni Sr. Secondary School, Amar Ch. Das, Accounts and Programme Supervisor, NYK Diphu, Dr. Shiv Jee Chauhan, Asst Prof. Dhanraj Harijan, Ex- NYV, Madhumita Mazumdar, HOD, Philosophy, Dr. Surya Newar, HOD, Pol. Sc, Chhotelal Chauhan, HOD, Hindi, Ashok Kr. Chauhan, Asst. Prof. Dr. Rajesh Kr. Chauhan, Asst. Prof. etc. More than 350 youths took part in the Utsav.

 1st Prize in Cultural Competition was won by students of Kapili College in Karbi Folk dance, 1st Prize in Declamation contest was won by Khusbu Kumari Chauhan, 1st Prize in Mobile Photography contest was won by Mongal Sing Dera, 1st Prize in Young Artist contest was won by Soni Kumari Chauhan and 1st Prize in Young writers contest was won by Abhishel Chauhan. All the winners of the contest were awarded Certificates and prize money.
