Dr. Numal Momin lays foundation stone for developmental works inside Borjan

BOKAJAN/DILLAI, Mar 18: Bokajan MLA as well as deputy speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly Dr. Numal Momin today laid foundation stones for developmental projects at three different places inside Borjan MAC constituency. The projects included PWD Road linking Lakhijan and Sukhanjan, a new building for Polytechnic in Kuligaon ITI and a water supply scheme in Hidipi.
The 5 kms road from Lakhijan to Sukhajan has been sanctioned under the Mukhya Muntrir Unnoto Pakipath Nirman Achani SOPDG 2022-23. An amount of Rs. 11 crores has been allocated for this project.
The foundation stone for water supply project or the Gravity Piped Water Supply Scheme laid at Hidipi Ram Terang village will construction under the Pradhan Muntri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana 2021-22. An amount of Rs. 1.7 crores will be utilised for this project. Karbi Anglong DC Madhumita Bhagawati (ACS), EM Mongal Sing Timung and several officers of the PHE department were present during the event.
Dr. Numal Momin informed that water will be brought from Upper Ok-Kehai village. The scheme will benefit five villages including Ram Terang, Jensing Teron, Kamsing Teron, Buraso Rongphar and Khoyasing Tokbi villages. The 256 households in these villages will get 24 hrs water supply daily.
The new Polytechnic building at Kuligaon ITI will be constructed as per the Govt. of Assam’s vision for upgrading the existing polytechnic institutes and it is to make Assam as centre of excellence in the field. Presided by Babu Ingti, several local leaders were present while Dr. Momin laid the foundation stone.
The contract for the polytechnic building has been given to Gerin Chutia of Sarupathar. An amount of Rs. 1.7 crores has been allocated for the work.
