KOILAMATI, Sept 15: The 1st foundation day of East Mouza Sarkari Gaonbura Association was celebrated today at Ram Terang village (Chotiona) community hall which is 6 kilometres away from Koilamati under Nilip constituency. East Mouza area Mouzadar Pinpo Ronghang who graced the event as chief guest was warmly accorded by the villagers.
The celebration programme commenced with hoisting of flag at 8 am followed by a public meeting chaired by East Mouza Sarkari Gaonbura Association president Suren Terang, the SGB of Resakhidi area. Introduction of guests was carried out by the organisation’s general secretary Welson Kro, SGB of Akhoiputa area.
Chief guest of the programme while addressing the public talked about the value of land and enhance productivity in light of the growing population. Along with that, he gave the audience the advice to cultivate crops that would help them pay taxes, which are Rs. 50 for each bigha and Rs. 80 for cultivators of cash crops. Further, the programme attendees including SGB,GB and public, unanimously called upon the KAAC CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang to resolve the issue involving the East Mouza region. At least 200 public gathered at the events today including SGB, GB and the villagers.
It is important to note that the circle committee led the establishment of the East Mouja Sarkari Gaonbura Association on 15th Sept 2022, at the residence of SGB Lorence Teron in the Koilamati area. Nilip and Deopani, which are included in the Nilip Development Block, are two of the constituencies that make up East Mouja. Two police outposts, Barpathar and Chowkihola, are also present.
The organisation was created as a result of the central committee of the 1996-founded Silonijan Revenue Circle expressing a need for four mouza.
The Silonijan Revenue Circle was also founded following the foundation of the “All Karbi Anglong Sarkari Gaonbura Association” in 1994, which resulted in the establishment of the Sarkari Gaonbura Association under the jurisdiction of the four revenue circles in Karbi Anglong.
