BOKAJAN, Aug 19: One house in Sot Recho Village under Bokajan Police Station was destroyed by fire on Monday evening. According to the owner, the incident occurred at around 6:30 PM, and the house belonged to Sarthe Sing Tokbi.
The owner informed that the fire ignited from an unnoticed spot in the house, the flames grew in no time, and within 30 minutes, the entire house was engulfed and destroyed. All items inside the house, including cash money, utensils, clothes, a few furniture, fans, a cooler, school uniforms, books, and important documents, were all turned to ashes. The explosion of the gas cylinder kept inside the house also added to the intensity of the fire.
The incident occurred when Sarthe’s 10-year-old daughter was alone at home. Fortunately, she did not sustain any injury.
The family is in deep sorrow now. Sarthe’s wife, Tina Millikpi, passed away just about a month ago, and the fire accident had added to his grief.
