HAVARKEHAT, Mar 29: In a food poisoning case, altogether seven teachers and five students belonging to Howraghat Shankardev Bidya Niketan School were hospitalised after eating chow mein brought from a local hotel under Howraghat Police Station, Karbi Anglong district here today.
The incident took place when the teachers and students of the Howraghat Shankardev Bidya Niketan School started vomiting and complained of severe headache 10 minutes after consuming chow brought from one Raju Hotel at the Havarkehat town. Following this, the seven teachers and five students were immediately taken to Howraghat Block Primary Health Centre where they were given immediate treatment. Howraghat Police Station OC Monjit Terang reached the hospital immediately on receiving information about the food poisoning incident. Meanwhile, the condition of all the hospitalised persons were stated to be stable at the time of filing this report but school official informed that sample of the food items have already been taken for further investigation into the matter.
