DIPHU, Apr 18: The Forest Department under the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council today demolished all the illegal houses and structure constructed inside the forest area along the Diphu-Lumding road, around 12 kilometres from the district headquarter Diphu here today.
The demolition of illegal houses had been carried out by ACF, DFO, Ranger with more that 200 staff. The forest officials informed that the action was launched as per the direction of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang.
The forest officials informed that more than 40 houses constructed inside the forest area have been destroyed.
