DIPHU, May 24:Former Miss KYF and also a well-known Karbi film actress MalinTimungpi has been appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce at Sibsagar Commerce College. The news of her appointment has brought happiness to her family, friends and well-wishers.
Born to Khorsing Timung and Kadom Hansepi, Malin hails from Rongkhelan, Dengaon, Karbi Anglong. Her educational success began at Mount Senai English High School in Dengaon, where she completed her matriculation with excellent results. She passed her higher secondary from Diphu Govt. College and later completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accountancy from GNDG Commerce College. She made her academic qualifications stronger by clearing the NET with JRF in 2022.
Malin is doing her Ph.D. at Bodoland University and at the same time serving as a contractual Assistant Professor at Diphu Government College.
Earlier, Malin had been a successful actress in Karbi film industry by showcasing her acting talents in films like Ranam Aseme, Tengne Un-e 2 and others. Her jumped from film to academic field is an example of how hard work can help a person achieve anything in life.
Two other women have also secured the post of assistant professor. Merieleen Engtipi has been appointed as in the Department of Political Science at Sarupathar College, Golaghat, while Mousumi Terangpi has secured the position in the Department of Botany at Dhing College, Nagaon. Mousumi was today given a farewell by the teachers and staff of Men Hanse Memorial School, Diphu where she was working.
