DIPHU/KOILAMATI Sept 18: Dy. speaker of Assam legislative Assembly Dr. Numol Momin today laid foundation stone for weekly market modernization and improvement project (MMIP) at several places in Karbi Anglong including Khatkhati and Koilamati. The project would be undertaken by the Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART). The programme was presided over by village headman Raj Teron in Koilamati today.
During the ceremony, MLA Dr. Numol Momin was joined by KAAC EM Surjya Rongphar, EM Mukut Mahanta, MAC Sri Pabitra Rongpi, VDC Chairman Sonaram Singnar, Board Chairman Sri Rajbu Teron, Koilamati Lamps general secretary Mohonsing Teron, Nilip BJP Mandal president Baburam Teron, Koilamati area SGB Lorence Teron, GB Sing Rongpi and other dignitaries.
Speaking at the event, MAC Pobitra Rongpi stated that the area has improved since his victory as MAC of the Nilip constituency.
Later, Dr. Numal Momin also mentioned that religion and political party should not be a barrier while offering government assistance to the underprivileged. He went on to say that the corrupted contractor for the PMAY-G project would be imprisoned as well.
It may be mentioned that several development projects were completed after the BJP was elected to power, including a 10-bedded hospital, the Deigrum RCC bridge, the Silonijan and Chokihola BBDC roads, the KGBV girls residential school, the Arlong Rupath Boundary Wall, Auditorium Hall and others.
