BOKAJAN, Mar 29: In a latest development, the Karbi Anglong Police recovered a total of 61.41 kilogram of ganja during a search conducted inside a car which was captured after a chase under the Khatkhati Police Station here today.
According to the police at around 10:30 am, as per secret information, they spotted a silver-coloured Verna car with the registration AS01MB4394 which was carrying the narcotic items but did not stop when asked and forcibly sped the car in an attempt to escape from the cops. Following the police also chased the car and managed to capture the fleeing car at approximately 500 metres away from the checkpoint.

The ganja was recovered during the search of the car which had two passengers. Following the recovery of the ganja, the three occupants including the driver identified as Mohibur Rahman (30 yrs), s/o: Md. Bhaiti Ali, and two passengers identified as Md. Dildar Hussain (29 years), s/o Md Tajamul Hussain and Babul Shiekh (40 years), s/o of Lt. Abdul Salam all the three are residents of Jajori near Saru Masjid, Jajori, Morigaon, Assam, police informed.
The suspected ganja was taken under their custody in presence of independent witnesses under the supervision of Mwblik Brahma, OC Bokajan PS, the police concluded.
