
DIPHU, Apr 26: The twin hills district of Karbi Anglong has again shot to limelight after it came in the first and third in the bottom of the Gunotsav 2023 assessment summary report which was published today.
According to the executive summary report, Sivasagar occupies the top spot with 800 schools getting ‘A+’, 288 schools with ‘A’, 20 schools with ‘B’, 3 schools with ‘C’ and only 2 schools marked ‘D’. The second and third spot are occupied by Charaideo and Golaghat district respectively.
Meanwhile out of the total 1165 schools assessed, Karbi Anglong district came in the 31 position with only 135 schools receiving ‘A+’ grade, 507 schools with ‘A’, 355 schools receiving ‘B’, 102 schools received ‘C’ and 66 schools were marked ‘D’. Chirang district came in the 32 and West Karbi Anglong district occupied the bottom spot in the assessment. Out of the 635 schools assessed, only 36 schools received ‘A+’ grade, 219 schools with ‘A’, 213 schools got ‘B’, 94 schools received ‘C’ grade and 73 schools received ‘D’ grade.
Meanwhile, massive numbers of local people have expressed their deep disappointment after the Gunotsav 2023 report was published calling Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council to focus on improving the poor education scenario. With the assessment report out, more reactions are expected to come in the days to come.
