DONGKAMUKAM, Apr 28: West Karbi Anglong was heavily hammered by hailstorm, heavy rain, thunderstorm and lightning on Friday afternoon.
Hundreds of houses were damaged, electric posts broken, trees uprooted, and a pall of gloom descended on the usually busy roads and market places as fallen trees blocked the entire roads in the area.
Reports said that power cuts will likely be restored after a few days from now, since electric posts and wires were broken in many places.
Till evening no human casualties were reported from across the West Karbi Anglong District.
Similar thunderstorms and heavy showers had also occurred on Thursday afternoon.
