BOKAJAN, Apr 11: A 58- year-old woman died on the spot after a 407 truck hit her on NH-39 at around 09:30 this morning. The incident took place at Amrajan which falls under Bokajan Police station. The woman identified as Dipali Biswas was crossing the road when a speeding truck bearing registration number NL 07A 6241 heading towards Bokajan hit her and crushed her left leg.
On getting information, the Police immediately rushed to the spot and took the dead body to Diphu Medical College & Hospital for autopsy.
Locals who have witnessed the incident told TDE that they have witnessed very less number of road accidents ever since the authority set up a speed breaker on the national highway that passes through their village Amrajan. However, today’s incident made them to think that they might have to encounter such incidents frequently due to the rapid expansion of market in Amrajan that leads to road congestion.
