HLP 2025 Graduation Day held

DIPHU, Aug 10: The Heritage Learning Programme (HLP) 2025 Graduation Day was held today 11 AM to 5 PM at the Farmers Growth Centre, Diphu, marking the successful completion of the 5th cohort of the 13-member HLP batch of 2025. The event brought together participants, facilitators, invited guests, alumni and community members to celebrate the trainees’ learning, achievements and future commitments.
The programme opened with a warm welcome address, followed by an evocative opening act by Sarkiri, a member of HLP Batch 2025, who delighted the audience with a soulful flute performance accompanied by song. Sabin Rongpipi, HLP Director, then addressed the gathering and shared reflections on the batch’s journey, the skills acquired and the programme’s vision going forward.
A formal introduction and felicitation of the invited guests followed. Those honoured included Dharamsing Teron, Founder and Director of CKS, Sikari Tisso, eminent linguist and researcher, Avijit Kro, Deputy Speaker, KAAC, Bibison Tokbi, DFO, Forest Dept., Kilentola Jamir, holistic counsellor and Initiative of Change volunteer (Nagaland), Mohesh Ronghang, Principal of Sardokpo Ronghang Memorial Academy, Jengkha, Serdihun Hansepi, Headmistress, Phonglangso LP School, Disobai, Rangsina Tokbi representing YES NGO, Longsing Tokbi, entrepreneur and founder of Hills Pick Enterprise, Dhonison Lekthe, Additional Judge, Serdihun Teronpi, Asst. Prof., Diphu Govt. College, Priyanka D. Sangma representing Book Club Diphu and the Ingdang Society.
HLP Batch 2025 members then presented their journey through the programme. Each participant outlined personal learning, community projects and a three year vision that set out concrete goals for themselves, their families and their communities. They emphasised ongoing engagement with HLP and CKS and described how the skills and networks built during the programme would support grassroots initiatives and community development work.
Dharamsing Teron delivered an insightful keynote that underscored the importance of community-led learning, cultural preservation and youth leadership. His remarks were followed by a celebratory cake-cutting ceremony and a communal lunch that provided an informal space for exchange between participants and guests.
The afternoon session featured short speeches from facilitators and guest speakers who highlighted the batch’s resilience, creativity and readiness to contribute locally. The graduation segment concluded with the distribution of certificates: Certificate of Completion for the HLP course and Internship Completion Certificates for the seven-day community internship. In a generous gesture, Longbir Terang presented the batch with copies of the book Thurnon Sonnets.
HLP Director Sabin Rongpipi thanked the participants for joining the programme and expressed her hopes that they will contribute to make positive changes in the society. She also thanked everyone who supported in the success of the entire 5th cohort programme.
The programme concluded with an eventful group photo session and warm farewells. Attendees departed with renewed commitment to remain connected to HLP and CKS and to translate their learning into sustained community action.
