JAPRALANGSO, Aug 14: The Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee, led by President Raton Engti, recently visited the Panimara Stone Quarry and uncovered evidence of illegal operations, including invalid documents. The investigation revealed a significant nexus involving key forest officials, including DFO East Division Bikram Rongpi and Ranger Chingbai Ronghang.
The quarry was operating without valid documents, raising serious concerns about corruption and disregard for regulations. As the Congress team left the site, they were gheraoed and blocked, apparently in an attempt to intimidate them into silence.
Raton Engti condemned the attempt to silence them, stating, “We will not be silenced. We demand immediate investigation and accountability. Karbi Anglong deserves justice.” The Congress Party reaffirmed its commitment to fighting corruption, emphasizing its determination to expose and challenge illicit activities.
