DONGKAMUKAM, Apr 10: KAAC chief Dr Tuliram Ronghang on Monday afternoon inaugurated the three-day 2nd Asomi Bohagi Mela 2023 at Tumpreng, West Karbi Anglong. The mela is being organised by the Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission in collaboration with Rural & Panchayat Development Department, Government of Assam.
Speaking as the chief guest the CEM said that Rs 50 lakhs each will be given to each of the 26 MAC constituencies for making weaving centres for SHGs.
‘In addition to this, another Rs 50 lakhs special package of total rupees one crore to buy furniture will also be given,’ he assured.
He finally lauded the organisers for giving opportunities to create markets to sell not only food products of different delicacies but also different traditional dresses produced by rural SHGs wherein dozens of stalls were installed in the site.
The programme was also attended by MLA Darsing Ronghang, EM Amarsingh Tisso and Madhurium Lekthe, MAC s Johnny Timung, Headsing Rongphar, Longbison Bey, Abhijit Kro, Phenphiga Rengma, Chairman Veterinary Dev Board Ditolal Hasnu, President BJP WKADC Radip Ronghang, Dr Janta Pator and others.
