BOKAJAN, Aug 08: KAAC CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang today inaugurated the new office building of Bokajan Police Station at around 10 AM.
The Bokajan Police Station was set up in 1956, it has completed 69 years of service to the people. The absence of a good infrastructure was creating several issues to the station as it did not get a new building 15 years ago, when the government took the initiative of constructing new buildings for police stations across the state. The newly established stations were given preference at that time.
Fortunately, the government took up another project in recent times and a new RCC building was approved for Bokajan Police Station as well. The building inauguration was also attended by MLA Dr. Numol Momin, District Commissioner Nirola Phangchopi, ADC Kakumoni Saikia, SP Sanjib Kumar Saikia, EMs, MACs and Bokajan Municipal Board Chairman Sardili Bey.
Speaking on the occasion, KAAC CEM lauded the commendable job done by Bokajan Police Station in the fight against drugs and other illegal activities. He said, the presence of an active police station with dedicated officers and personnel has been instrumental in stopping the smuggling of various substances along the highway connecting Assam and Nagaland.
