DIPHU, Jul 19: KAAC CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang and MP Amarsing Tisso flagged off the Rajdhani Express train from Diphu Railway Station on the night of July 17, after the train was allowed to resume stopping here.
The stoppage of the Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express in Diphu was discontinued during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, the public has been demanding that the competent authority resume the operation of the train in Diphu.
The former MP Horensing Bey began raising the demand in the Parliament, and the present MP Amarsing Tisso continued the demand, more strongly. As per the approval from the Union Railway Minister, the Diphu stoppage was resumed.
At 11:15 PM on July 17, the train reached Diphu, stopped for 2 minutes, after which, KAAC CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang, MP Amarsing Tisso, MLA Darsing Ronghang, KAAC Chairman Raju Tisso, EM Lunsing Teron, in the presence of Railway Department officials, flagged off the train at Diphu. They expressed their gratitude of the Union Minister of Railways.
