KABC women seminar successfully concludes in Bokajan

BOKAJAN, Sep 12: The women’s seminar of Karbi Anglong Baptist Convention (KABC) for the session 2023 that began on September 8 successfully concluded today. It was organized by the KABC Women Department in collaboration with Bokajan Kordoikuri Matri Baptist Church. The women seminar is conducted annually as part of an exposure programme for churches under KABC and the theme taken for the year 2023 was ‘Empowered Christian Women’ from the book of Acts 1:8.

The programme was organised for a group of women with a motive to bring peace and harmony through enhancing women’s roles in society and by singing hymns of praise. As part of the programme activity, Group song competitions were also organized wherein the first prize was won by the Amri Karbi Baptist Kachekruk Asong, while the second and third prizes were won by PKBA women organization and NKBA women organization respectively.

It is worthwhile to mention that there are at least 14 ethnic communities comprising of Karbi, Boro, Adivasi, Garo, Shyam, Assamese, Dimasa, Nepali, Rengma, Kuki, Manipuri, Hmar, Lalung and Amri Karbi under Karbi Anglong Baptist Convention of Karbi Anglong.

Arenla Y., Longkumar and Rev. Kamson Rongphar, the general secretary of the KABC, served as the seminar’s resource people throughout the course of three days. Further, the DVBA Youth Department led the time of praise and worship.
