DIPHU, Jul 27: Karbi Anglong Morning Star FC (KAMSFC) suffered a 2-1 defeat to Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) in their Durand Cup 2025 debut match, held at the SAI Stadium in Kokrajhar. Despite being reduced to 10 men in the 23rd minute following a direct red card to Ghanaian defender Ben Nash Quansh, KAMSFC showed resilience and took the lead through Lunminlen Haokip’s goal in the 30th minute.
However, ITBP equalized just before halftime with Pulung Daimary’s neat side-footed finish, which took a deflection off a KAMSFC defender. The ITBP team sealed the win with a well-executed team move in the 60th minute, as Srikumar Karjee’s low cross was expertly finished by Hemraj Bhujel.
KAMSFC will be looking to regroup and perform better in their upcoming matches. They face Bodoland FC on July 31.
