DIPHU, Dec 09: The presidential election of the Karbi Lammet Amei for the session 2024-26 was held today in the organisation’s head office in Lumding Road, Diphu. The election was supervised by the returning officers Sar-et Hanse, Jeet Kumar Rongpi and Nandaram Teron.
Kamsing Hanse of Volongkom Aji has been elected as the new president. He had earlier served as the general secretary for two terms and was also a vice president.
Meanwhile, Karon Hansepi of Diphu has been re-elected as vice president, and Ramsing Phangcho of Phelangpi has been elected as vice president for the first time.
The newly elected president and vice presidents will assume their office from the annual conference of the KLA to be held soon at Rongthelu, Manja.
The new president and vice presidents were elected through voting by members of the central committee, regional committees and branches of KLA. More than 300 members came for the voting day.
