DOLAMARA, Apr 22: Popular Karbi comic actor Harlongbi Phangcho passed away on Friday evening leaving his family, friends, and well-wishers in a state of shock and awe. Phangcho allegedly committed suicide after his body was found hanging inside a room of Kohora Soil Conservation IB.
According to the family of the deceased actor, he left home on Friday afternoon saying he was going to meet someone only to be found dead later. Family members stated that he was a very peace-loving, quiet but jolly person who had no enmity with anyone.
Police were informed of the incident and his body was taken to Diphu Medical College and Hospital for autopsy while the cause or intent of his death could be ascertained at the moment.
The deceased actor had acted in several Karbi films and video albums and was also a part of Ayushman Khurana starrer Bollywood film ‘Anek’ and he was also actively working with the Karbi Film Society, Karbi Cultural Society, and other civil organisations.
The whole Karbi film fraternity was in shock after the news of the actor’s death. The film fraternity also expressed their sorrow and grief on his demise. Several condolence programmes were also conducted. Local MAC Richard Tokbi also extended his condolence of the passing away of the actor.
