DIPHU, Sep 10: The Karbi Anglong Rong Asar Amei (KARAA) today conducted a training on Paragraphs 3 & 4 of the Sixth Schedule to the constitution of India. The training was held at Inglongcherop Community Hall, Diphu.
Chaired by Harsing Ronghang, the chief guest of the event was KAAC EM Surjya Rongphar. The training was conducted to create awareness among the village headmen regarding the Karbi Customary Law.
Speaking on the occasion, EM Surjya Rongphar lauded the KARAA for their efforts to put all the rules under the Karbi Customary Law in written form. He said that continuing with such training programmes will help in spreading the ideas and knowledge about the traditional laws of Karbi.
Former KAAC EM Lunse Timung, former KLA general secretary Sing Kro, advocates Rupon Timung, Jivan Bey, folk singer Longsing Bey, KARAA general secretary Dhansing Ronghang, Nijang KARAA president Dhonsing Teron, adviser Sarthe Rongpi, VP Joysing Tisso, Basapi Asong Chari leaders and several other persons were also present.
