KAAC will reward local farmers with huge success: CEM Dr. Ronghang

DIPHU, Dec 06: Bringing massive hope and encouraging local farming community, the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang said that KAAC would provide financial reward to local farmers who able to increase production and able to supply their products to contribute towards local economy. This was stated while speaking at the 13th Foundation Day of the Karbi Farmers’ Association (KFA) held at aa pàFarmers’ Growth Centre Auditorium here in Diphu today.
Addressing the gathering, CEM Ronghang said that the farmers of the state including the twin hills districts of Karbi Anglong have been given massive respite and boost after they were given price as per their expectation under Minimum Sports Price (MSP). “The farmers are now happy to be able to sell their rice at the rate of Rs. 2,200 per quintal. In addition to this, our farmers does not have to worry about the market to sell their produce,” CEM Ronghang said.
The KAAC chief also stated that the twin hills districts are one of the highest broom grass producing districts and now it has been declared as non-forest product which a a great news for the farmers. He said the farmers will also be able to sell their produce at the rate that would bring profit for them.
Further, CEM expressed happiness over the work done by the Agriculture Department reminding that the KAAC are providing power tiller, water pump at subsidized rates and farming equipments including sprayer and other machines are being provided for free to identified beneficiaries. He also informed that various seeds are also being distributed for free to the farmers of the district.
The programme was chaired by KFA president Tingku Ingti and the purpose of the programme and guests were introduced by secretary Soronsing Rongpi. Chief guest of the programme KAAC CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang was accompanied by MAC Johny Timung, Karbi Language Development Board former chairman Khorsing Teron, Lunsing Timung, Khorsing Teron, KA PWD Board Chairman Longsing Tokbi, Agriculture Board chairman Mohonsing Tisso, Mirbeen Producer Dhaniram Tisso, KERUF leader P Dili, KAIYA president Stalyn Engti and Samsing Hanse.
