DIPHU, Mar 27: The Karbi Lammet Amei (KLA), the apex body of Karbi literature celebrated its 57th birth anniversary today. Along with the CEC which celebrated the day at Diphu, other regional and branch bodies also observed the day at their respective offices.
The KLA CEC observed the day at their new office building located on Lumding Road, Diphu. The day began in the morning with the hoisting of the organisation’s flag the president Barim Ingti. This was followed by paying homage to the departed leaders of the organisation. It was led by former KLA president Lunse Timung. At 10:30 AM, president Barim Ingti chaired the session of the inauguration of the new building of KLA CEC by KAAC CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang. MP Horensing Bey, Padmashree Dhaneswar Ingti, several KAAC EMs, MACs and many members of the KLA were present at the event.

Dedicating the new building to the KLA, the CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang congratulated the organisation on its 57th foundation. He said that the KAAC has always given preference and importance to culture and literature and the construction of the office is a symbol of their love towards the organisation which had spearheaded the preservation and promotion of Karbi language.
The CEM also announced that a guest house will be constructed at the top of the new building through CEM Special Package funds. He also directed the concerned officer for the construction of a boundary wall and borewell on the campus and a paver-block courtyard in front of the building.
The CEM further announced that the KAAC will increase the annual grant to KLA from Rs. 40 lakhs to Rs. 50 lakhs per year. He further assured us to provide all the needed furniture in the new building.
“All the works announced today should be completed within 3 months,” said the CEM.
He also officially inaugurated the Karbi translation of the book “Mrityunjay” written by Birendra Kumar Bhattacharydya. The translation has been done by eminent Karbi translator Khogen Ingti. The CEM also mentioned the contribution of former leaders of KLA who had founded the organisation.
