DIPHU/DONGMUKAK, Apr 29: On the third day of the 31st annual conference of Karbi Lammet Amei, several distinguished persons who had shown exceptional performance in their respective fields and proud laurels to Karbis and Karbi Anglong were felicitated. Among the persons felicitated included Padmashree Rongbong Terang, District Jailor Rabiram Ingti, craftsman Lindok Hanse, charhepi Chemar Rongpipi and charhepi Kasang Teronpi, ACS officer Rangbamon Teron, scholars Dr. Robinson Timung, Dr. Bamonkiri Rongpi, Dr. Junmoni Hansepi, masters games sportsman Dhansing Rongpi, Rumila Terangpi, actress Malin Tissopi, film director and producer Dhaniram Tisso and others.
The felicitation was done during the public meeting on literature chaired by KLA president Barim Ingti. Padmashree Rongbong Terang attended the session as the chief guest in the presence of former KLA presidents Roy Inghi, Khorsing Teron and leaders of several literary organisations under Karbi Anglong.
Later in the evening, a poem recitation session dedicated to the young Karbi writers was also held. This session was chaired by eminent Karbi and Assamese poet Hangmiji Hanse. Another session on the basic rules of writing short stories was also conducted where prominent writers Hangmiji Hanse, Sarklim Taro, Liladhar Teron, On Teron and Longbir Terang shared their ideas on the topic.
It may be mentioned that the third day of the conference was dedicated to the Bhasa Sanman winner Karbi litterateur Lt. Bidorsing Kro.
