DIPHU, Apr 26: The Karbi Anglong Territorial Social Security Association (KATSSA) on has demanded the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council of transferring forest is deeply essential to check employees of being involved in corruption. This was stated during a press conference held at Sankar Mission Community Hall, Satgaon in West Karbi Anglong district here on Tuesday.
Addressing the media, KATSSA president Semson Engti informed that huge number of staff of forest department under the six forest divisions, have been working at the same office for more than 10 years. “As a consequent of these, many of the employees get the chance to start involving in corrupt and illegal practices. And due to this, these employees became shadier and KAAC’s strict order or notifications are violated,” Engti said.
The organisation president charged that illegal appointment is still rampant even as KAAC CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang has promised fresh interview call and restore the services of all the people who have been appointed with any legal sanction. He further informed that more than 50 persons from are from his own his home constituency-Bithung Rengthama. “We urged upon the CEM to appoint them all and regularise their service,” Engti said.
Bithung Rengthama Constituency Phankri village resident Rupsing Timung claimed that he had paid Rs. 2 lakh in 2021 to secure forest guard post. “The money was collected with tremendous sacrifices and pain but his service has been terminated therefore, we urged upon the CEM to restore service of Timung and all of those who had paid money,” KATSSA president said.
